Kyle2025
Throughout my career with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, The Walt Disney Company, and United Airlines, I was recognized as an intrapreneur. Someone who saw opportunity where others saw obstacles, building creative business development strategies and driving sustainable growth. Living and leading in Japan for 22 years taught me that true leadership is rooted in curiosity, adaptability, and deep respect for different perspectives.

Today, I bring that same spirit to mentoring entrepreneurs. Guiding early-stage ventures reminds me that every journey — whether in business or in life — requires courage, resilience, and a willingness to forge new paths.

Outside of mentoring, I stay energized by an active outdoor lifestyle, embracing cycling, swimming, and kayaking as ways to stay connected to the world around me and to keep moving forward — both in life and in spirit.

My mission now is simple: to give back, to empower, and to help turn bold ideas into reality.

Trishaw Pilot
Cycling Without Age
Seated on a customized e-assist trishaw, I am part of a volunteer organization taking seniors for magical rides around Vancouver.

Together we cycle along beaches, through parks and scenic pathways. Moreover, we listen, talk and relive memories with those seniors needing a little time outside in the fresh air.

Mentor and Advisor
Innovation UBC
New Ventures BC
Mentors support both entrepreneurial and personal growth, as well as venture development, by offering constructive, asset-based feedback and guidance. We help create a learning-centred environment that encourages independent thinking, strengthens decision-making skills, and builds the entrepreneurial confidence and acumen of the ventures.

Platelet Donor
Canadian Blood Services
Every two weeks I go through a process called plateletpheresis, where a machine separates platelets from my blood while returning my red cells/plasma.

Platelets are vital for cancer patients because they prevent and stop bleeding and help support recovery.

115 donations so far

During the summer months, I work out in the fresh air, sunshine and dirt planting, weeding and harvesting at the UBC Farm.

Bike. Swim. Kayak.
Fitness has played a role in my life for as long as I can remember. Mostly it was about staying active and feeling fit.

As I entered my senior years it took on a different role. It became an investment in my future.
Bernedoodle Dad
Including an English Springer Spaniel as a young boy and a rescue Dalmatian as a bachelor, dogs have been an important part of my life.

After a tragic loss in 2020, I wasn't sure if I was ready for another dog.
